Procrastination

Most of the time we feel the necessity of change some habits, but sometimes we feel cozy in a certain type of environment. That was my experience. While I was growing up, I felt the feeling of doing more things, such as hiking, bicycling, swimming, and so on, but each time I felt that I had the time and sources, I used to overthink about, what if I would not like? or, what if it is not as fun as I thought? But throughout the years, I realized that those kinds of thoughts were not about fear of failure, but I did not want to leave my comfort zone. Leisure time propels to spend our time with, unnecessary things, such as reading gossip news, playing video games for extended periods of time, and so on. It depends on how you take advantage of that precious time. In the real world, there are a lot of naysayers that can decrease our willingness toward either our goals or dreams. In this blog entry, I will tell you why humans tend to keep procrastinating, despite they know already that is an unacceptable habit; second, how procrastination is affecting your life, and your professional career; and lastly, how you can get over that phase of your life.
Sometimes we feel a sense of doing a lot of things, such as learning a new language, cooking a new recipe, and so on, but when we start thinking about how difficult it is going to be, the first thing we do easily is rule it out, or give up without even trying. But why are we still doing this even knowing that is awful for us? Because we are not used to doing or trying new challenging things, or we do not want to leave our comfort zone. It is easier to keep doing easy habits than try hard and challenging ones. We can do a lot of things, but we must give up habits that do not help our futures. Act! and you will be able to reach your dreams. We are what we repeat.
Whilst procrastinating is overtaking your life, you are not learning anything new. We tend to spend prolonged periods of time in front of the tv, spending time on social media (it does not mean it’s evil, but it depends on to what end you are using it for). If you are spending hours and hours depending on those wicked habits, guess what? You are not taking advantage of your precious time. We must foster self-teaching. No matter if you start with tiny steps, the first thing that makes a difference is your discipline and bravery toward your goals.
As I told you previously, you can start with tiny steps, but you have to deal with it as part of your new lifestyle. Stop thinking that the new lifestyle is not going to fit with your schedule and start thinking about how you can arrange according to your life and think positively. Always keep in mind the new habit is going to change your life, and you will improve for the better.
In summary, changing could be tough, throughout the process you will ask yourself: “why am I doing this? Is this beneficial? I had those questions, and I only thought about the purposes of changing and acting. In the end, you will feel the gratification of having started, and having said: “good thing I did it” and feel proud of yourself.
