There are many languages around the world, such as Mandarin, Norwegian, German, French, etc. There are some words that are similar between them, for example, Spanish with Portuguese, and Italian. To give you a clear example, did you know that the word “drink” is almost like the same word in Dutch? How is it may you wonder? Drink in Dutch is “drinkt”, we only have to add the letter “t” at the end of the word. It is not a notable change. Another example could be the word “apple” in English and in Dutch is “appel”. There are not many changes, but the rest of the languages have several changes like the word “eat” in German is “essen”, it totally changes. But don’t worry, with patience and discipline you can learn the languages that you are interested in. In this essay, I will tell you about, firstly, how you can increase your knowledge about vocabulary; second, I will suggest you some websites and apps to start with that new language you want to start learning; and finally, I’ll give you some advice to enjoy the process.

There are some methods to increase your vocabulary. They range from watching movies to using apps. But all you need is to practice every single day (no matter if it’s 15 or 30 minutes, you only have to be disciplined), like taking notes of the words that you don’t know, at least 5 new words, and practicing them every day until you are able to remember each word well. At the same time, try to create sentences with those words, to make sure that you already know the meaning of those unfamiliar words. Once you know those words, try to find new ones, this is with the purpose of creating a routine for your vocabulary.

Nowadays, technology has been improving throughout, so we can find a lot of ways to start learning a new language. I’ll suggest to you my personal apps that I use every day when I want to start a new language. First, this app is known around the world, and it is known as Duolingo. This app works to create the basic structure of any language, and you can also learn how to pronounce new words. Duolingo was created by Guatemalan Luis Von Ahn, this is one reason that it is my favourite app. And the second is called Cambly. This website helps you to interact with native speakers. You probably wonder: “Is that website for advanced speakers?”, And yes, it could be for advanced ones, but you can figure out on your own how the website is like. I hope you enjoy these ways of learning.

When I started learning English, it was difficult, because I didn’t know most of the basic words, and it was frustrating. The only thing that kept me in a positive mood, was that learning a language shouldn’t be hard, and that must be a fascinating journey. You need to be creative whilst you learn English because if you are interested in learning that new language, you will learn it as soon as possible. That is the magic of being disciplined and persistent. You can create flashcards to learn either vocabulary or grammar. The only limit is the sky. Do not compare yourself with the advanced students. Take your time. You can also create your own way to learn languages, but if you want some advice, try to have fun.

To summarize, there are more techniques for learning languages but try to use the simple ones when you are starting a new language, which is to keep your mind focused and reach the goal. We know already that there are several variations in each word of each language, if you are thinking about a new language, be creative and seek your own way to learn it.
