We Are Art
Art has been present for centuries, since the old civilizations, such Greek, Roman, and Ancient Egyptian empires.
If you had to choose a sound, color, picture, or shape to describe what art means to you, what would it be? And if you had to choose a specific person, or place that perfectly describes art, what would it be? For me, if I had to choose a sound, color, picture or shape, I think it would be blue, because there are many shades of blue, and many beautiful different things with those shades. But, I can’t choose anyone, or anywhere, because art is present at all the time, with everyone, everywhere, in everything, and perfection doesn’t exist. I certainly believe that art exist to show there are different perspectives, and all of them are beautiful in their own way for the ideal person. So, in this blog entry, I will first talk a little about the history of art; secondly, I will tell you some of the most famous masterpieces of art, in painting, sculpture, and music, that I like; and finally, I will share with you my experience with art.
Art has been present for centuries, since the old civilizations, such Greek, Roman, and Ancient Egyptians empires. It is because creativity is an intrinsic, and essential part of being human, to express emotions, feelings, experiences, and thoughts. Earth is unimaginably old, and immense, and humans have been creating, and changing art for a long time. Proof of this are all the different places where archeologist have found paintings. One of the most recent cave art was discovered in 2021 in Indonesia. In this cave is the oldest animal painting known, experts believe it was drawn 45,500 years ago. From the Ancient Classical art to the Contemporary art, is no doubt that with the passage of time art has changed a lot. Art has been, is, and will be essential for humans, for that reason I think everyone should explore and exploit their most creative side.
I am pretty sure that the first thing people are able to imagine when they think of masterpieces of art, is The Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. I must admit that I am not a big fan of the Da Vinci style, and don’t misunderstand my words, I am not saying that The Mona Lisa is not a masterpiece, or Da Vinci wasn’t a great artist. Simply, there were more than one great artist in different areas of art, not only in painting that created beautiful masterpieces. Starting with painting, I like so much the Vincent van Gogh style. His paintings and techniques were advanced for his time. His most famous masterpiece is “The starry night.” Although, these are his most famous piece, I prefer: “Café Terrace at Night.” Continuing with the area of sculpture, I truly believe that the Greek empire has the most beautiful sculptures. “Winged Victory of Samothrace” makes me feel a kind of emotion that I can’t explain. The techniques are impeccable. In music, there are many melodies that make me feel chills, but, “The Devil's Trill Sonata” by Giuseppe Tartini is considered like one of the most complicated masterpieces. Chords and quick changes make this melody unique.
I consider myself a very creative and emotional person. For me, art is like a substantial vitamin, which I can’t live without. For people who know me well, it is not a secret that I enjoy so much painting, writing poetry, singing, and dancing. Art has helped me in uncountable times, and I am very glad to know that I am able to express myself through some areas of art. Although, my art is a very personal thing for me, and I don’t like to share with everyone, every time I have the opportunity to talk about art with someone, I do my best to inspire, influence and convince them to explore their creative side. In art nothing is silly, once I read that nothing is black or white, it all depends on from the perspective you see the things. If you never try, you will never know what are you capable of doing. Maybe you are losing the opportunity to find who are you in life.
Definitely, art is an important and substantial part of human’s history. Thanks to art, we know how our ancestors lived, and what they did. Over the years, we have witnessed privileged minds, geniuses, who have left their names written for the rest of history through their works. They have been geniuses, not only because their art is incredible, but because they have believed in themselves and have explored their best artistic side. So, as I said, everyone must explore, imagine, exploit their most personal, and creative side. Even, if you think you are not a very creative person, or that you are not good at making art, just remember that the artist we now call geniuses, were called crazy. Just do it, if it doesn't work out at the end, at least you will know the things you are capable of doing.
