Social media is the worst way to be sociable. That sounds ridiculous, but it is probably the truth. For years, social media has been increasing in range and frequency of use. I remember when I created my first social media account; it was on Facebook, and it was when I was 13 years old. If I am honest, I just created my account under the pressure of my friends. Because in those times, you were important. If you had one, and you had many friends there. Social media doesn’t influence me at all because, through the years, I’ve noticed that social media is stupid and a waste of time; you don’t make real friends and it could be dangerous because of bad people; trashy content;and useless challenges. In this blog entry, I’ll explain the influence of social media on younger generations; then, I’ll say the dangers of social media; and finally, I'll share my personal experience with my personal comment.

Social media has been an essential part of the younger generations' lives, providing a digital life, friends online, and, in some cases, influences. Most of the younger generation believes that you’re not important unless you have many friends, or that you're an important person in case you have a lot of friends. When I created my first social media account, I was thinking about making some new friends on the internet, but then I realized that there are just fake people who just create a perception of being.

Naturally, social media has a lot of dangers, and you would say that people know that, but sadly, the truth is that people are still ignorant about these dangers. In social media, there are viruses, tricked advertisements, rubish content, and bad people. We must remember that some people hide their faces under an account merely to harm people. I have friends who are hackers and know everything about the internet, and even they told me that social media is the easiest way to track individuals.

My personal experience is a bit different than that of normal users of social media. Personally, I don’t like social media; as mentioned, I consider it a waste of time. But in 2019, I decided to open my own business. It was a thing that I had been thinking about, so I encouraged myself and set up a name, a concept, and a service. But I found the obstacle of location; I was too young to manage a locale, and I didn’t have money to rent one as well. So, I decided to make my business online, and I created a social media account on Instagram. Then I started to build my business, so I understood that social media is not bad at all; you’re able to create opportunities and develop yourself.

To conclude, social media are undoubtedly a thing that has changed the world, and the ways we stay in contact with others, but you must be careful and take advantage of them.
